What are my boss's obligations if I have performance issues?

Performance management can be very stressful. Your employer must follow a fair and reasonable process and should also follow their own internal policies and procedures. You may take a support person to any performance management process, and this may be useful if there are areas of contention.

During the process, your employer must give full support, including training if necessary, to assist you to reach the level of required performance.
